The Justice Mudgal Committee has submitted its interim report on the Indian Premier League spot-fixing and betting probe in a sealed envelope to the Supreme Court and has sought two more months to complete investigations.The apex court had asked the committee to submit the report by the end of August.
Justice Mudgal, a retired Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, has submitted the report in a sealed cover. Suspended BCCI chief N Srinivasan and his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyyapan, among others, are facing allegations of involvement in the sensational IPL spot fixing case. Former team India member Sreesanth is also under its scanner.
Team India Captain M S Dhoni is also facing charges of making false statements before the committee to shield N Srinivasan. Dhoni is the captain of Chennai Super Kings in which Srinivasan and his family have stakes.
Justice Mudgal, in his earlier report, had named 10 cricketers for their alleged involvement in IPL spot fixing scandal.
